Eurofest returns to the RVT on Good Friday

Evacuate the dancefloor… the euro may be near collapse but we value europop as highly as ever! Following our near sell-out launch which raised nearly £800 for charity, we want you back: EUROFEST is offering you an Easter treat at the Royal Vauxhall Tavern on Good Friday, 6th April, from 9pm to 3am.

Once again we’ll be flying the flag for europop all night long, including many tracks from European pop’s spiritual core, the Eurovision Song Contest. And quite a lot of it won’t be Swedish. DJ Dave Simmons, the UK’s leading Eurovision DJ, and DJ Don Grant bring their 20 years’ experience of playing all things European. From ABBA to Whigfield to Alphabeat, from Sonia to Lena to Cascada, from Linda Bengtzing to Steps to Robyn, from Inna to Eric Saade to Sash!, Eurofest is the place to come and dance, sing along and be taken to your heaven. This event’s music will include highlights from this year’s Eurovision selections and national finals.

Strictly no R&B!!

Our LIVE ACT this event at around midnight will be NICKI FRENCHA fantastic entertainer, the biggest of Nicki’s four chart entries was her eurodance cover of “Total Eclipse of the Heart”, a worldwide smash and UK Top 5 in 1995. She also represented the United Kingdom at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2000 with the ever-popular “Don’t Play That Song Again”.

Much actual knowledge of Europop or Eurovision is strictly optional for your enjoyment of Eurofest. The whole point of these songs is you pick them up well within a single listen, and Eurofest draws the most unpretentious crowd you can imagine. And it’s all for less than the cost of Angela Merkel’s make-up!

AND of course it’s still all for charity… all proceeds from this event will be donated to the 40th birthday appeal of London Friend. That sounds good to us!

What will we play? See the Playlist page of the Eurofest website for more info.

Eurofest doesn’t necessarily replace Schlagerfest – we hope that there will be further Schlagerfest events if the stars align suitably for us to bring you something suitably amazing now that Loom is no longer available. But in the meantime, you will join us at Eurofest, right? 🙂

Schlagerfest update 31.10.11

Loom has now permanently closed, and Schlagerfest is currently without a venue for Friday night events.

Do you know anywhere that might be suitable – central, capacity around 120-150, and available for private hire? Let us know! E-mail info@schlagerfest.co.uk.

We are scoping alternative options for schlager events in London… watch this space!

Schlagerfest needs YOUR help!

Loom is changing ownership and we still don’t know if or when we will be able to book it again. Alternative central(ish) London club venues, capacity around 120-150, available for private hire on a Friday night, are proving hard to find. Do you know any or think you might? If so please e-mail info@schlagerfest.co.uk. You will be popular!!

Holding update…

We know that lots of you are already keen to know when the next Schlagerfest will take place. We do have a date in mind but there’s just an issue with the venue at the moment. As soon as we are able to confirm the next date you’ll see it here!

And the final count is…

Summer Schlagerfest last night raised £328.03 for the Terrence Higgins Trust. Thank you to everyone who was a part of it! Photos to follow shortly.

Summer Schlagerfest SOLD OUT!

Summer Schlagerfest is now completely SOLD OUT. We’ve reached Loom’s strict fire capacity, so unfortunately we will NOT be able to sell tickets on the night and will NOT be able to let anyone in who doesn’t already have a ticket. Thanks to everyone who’s contributed to such a fantastic success – see you Friday night!

The last song of the night this Friday…

Norwegian flagThe last song of the night at Summer Schlagerfest this Friday, just before 2am, will be “My Heart Is Yours” by Didrik Solli-Tangen. We feel it’s the right choice after last week’s dreadful events in Norway.

Advance requests now being taken!

DJ Dave Simmons is now accepting advance requests from ticket-holders! Just post your request on the event’s Facebook wall now. One song request per person please, and if your ticket isn’t booked in your own name please give the full name of the person who booked your ticket.
